It’s going to cost you more to eat! Still great value, though, we reckon for those of you based at Westminster.
In June the House of Commons Commission agreed a new pricing mechanism for House of Commons Catering Services.
Prices have now been reviewed in line with this new mechanism, and the prices of some items in dining rooms, cafeterias and bars will be raised from August. This will be the first general increase in prices since 2010 and is part of a wider programme of changes intended to reduce further the net cost of catering to the taxpayer. Not all prices are increasing – many items will remain at the same price. Catering Services aims to continue to provide value-for-money, high-quality meals and refreshments throughout the Parliamentary Estate.
The price increases will be implemented on Monday 5 August and in dining rooms on the return of the House on Monday 2 September.
