What does Parliament’s Education Service do?

Parliament’s Education Service works with schools to support young people’s understanding of Parliament and democracy.

Their website is here: http://www.parliament.uk/education/. It’s a great resource which you really need to browse through. Much of it is aimed at teachers but there’s plenty there for students as well.

Here are some of the sections:

  • About your Parliament – Explore this section to discover all about the role of Parliament.
  • Teaching resources and lesson plans
  • Teacher training and development – Provides training and support for trainee teachers and teachers of political literacy-related subjects.
  • Outreach – Some of the ways to bring Parliament, citizenship and political literacy into your classroom.
  • Visit with your school – Lots of information about workshops and other activities and tours
