Teacher’s Institute is a professional development opportunity run by Parliament’s Education Service. It is a programme wherein teachers of Government and Politics, Citizenship, or any similar subject can spend a week in the Houses of Parliament, backing up their knowledge and getting some first hand experience of the processes of politics and democracy.
The week includes a tour of the Palace of Westminster, Q&A sessions with Members from both houses, and networking opportunities, among much else.
The programme is free, and costs of travel, residential accomodation and most meals are covered. It will take place from the 30th of June to the 4th of July, and the deadline for applications is the 21st of March. If you know any teachers who might be interested, please let them know about the scheme.
