I’m moving out of my flat in the lovely, leafy Honor Oak Park and am renting out the rooms. It’s 25 minutes from Westminster and only 8 minutes from London Bridge.
The station is a 30 second walk from the front door (and there’s no noise in the flat from trains). This is the big selling point, as is the size of the place. There are two separate floors and on each floor there is a bathroom so you will only be sharing a bathroom with one other person.
Honor Oak Park has a Sainsburys Local (literally next door so you never have to do a food shop), a classy pizzeria opposite, coffee shops, a wine bar and a Turkish restaurant. All these are a stone’s throw from the property and you can see them from your bedroom! There are also loads of green fields and woodland walks to do.
The bigger two rooms have now gone to two lovely people (who will move in on 1st Sept). If you’re keen on the room I’ll make sure to introduce you to your neighbour so you can see who you’ll be living next to. The rent is 630/month including super fast broadband. The way I think we’re going to handle bills is you all pay me an amount for the first 2-3 months (say 50 quid), I deal with the admin for gas/elec/water, email you all the bills and then if you’ve overpaid, give you a rebate and adjust the monthly amount so that we get a little closer to being accurate. I think that’s a nice way of doing it which doesn’t require too much effort from anyone.
Council tax you’ll have to register of course in your own name but I can alert the Council to all your details once I’ve got the four people signed up. Council tax is around 28 quid each a month.
There are two bathrooms and two rooms on each floor (it has two staircases) so it’s one bathroom per two rooms. The rooms come furnished with white wardrobes, drawers, bedside tables, grey, upholstered 4ft 6 double beds and spring mattresses (though one room has my old bed which is a chunky, wooden, rustic style one).
I can show you around this any time. One thing to clarify is that the place doesn’t have a lounge (one of the big rooms is the lounge). That’s why the rent is slightly lower than is usual in this area. But the kitchen is big and has a dining room table in it etc. It’s ideal if you’re looking for cheaper rent so you can save, whilst living in a really nice area.
Any questions give me a shout. There will be a fridge/freezer between two and loads of cupboard space, lots of storage space (wardrobes, two attics, under stairs etc).
