Parliamentary Tours - the script

Added 13 April 2004

Now here's something really useful:  a shortened version of the script used by guides (PDF file 50KB ) along the Parliamentary Tour - what used to be known as the Line of Route.   Use it to educate yourself about the history of the Palace of Westminster or to impress your colleagues and visitors.  It includes all the information you need to know and will make you appear quite astonishingly knowledgeable.

This is a much shortened version which leaves out all sorts of footnotes.  We borrowed it, with permission, from the Central Tours Office last July and they told us then that the full version would be made available, via their intranet site, "some time soon".  We've looked and it's still not there as far as we can see.  This was a prototype version and "will be updated over time" so you should keep checking under the Tours tab on the Serjeant's website

While we are waiting for the fuller version, here's our shortened version of the script (a PDF file 50KB ).

We have added a map which shows the complete Line of Route i.e. all the places on the Tour, set out in order.

The Map as a JPEG (80 KB)

It is also available on the Serjeant at Arms' website; a large PDF file (297KB )but may be quicker to download if you are working on the Intranet.
