DodOnline: new website

7 July 2004
Revised: 15 December 2004

The message below appeared on the All Party Whip on Thursday 1 July 2004.

You can see the new DodOnline website at:  http://www.politicallinks.co.uk/

If you have access to the Parliamentary Network (PN), it's best to access DodOnline via the PN as the resources are all free.  You'll find it via the Commons Library Intranet pages.  On the PN homepage click on the "Library" Intranet > click on "Index of Services" > then click on "Dods Parliamentary Companion - database" under the letter 'D' > then on the VDP logo.

DOD ONLINE DEMONSTRATION

The Dod's website which has recently been redesigned, provides information about the UK Parliament, devolved powers, Civil Service and the EU. It provides details about institutions, constituencies and people, and features over 3,500 biographies of MPs, Lords, Members of the National Assembly for Wales, Members of the Scottish Parliament, Members of the European Parliament, GLA Members and Civil Servants.  Dod's online is available to all users of the Parliamentary Network through the Library's Intranet pages.

Dod's demonstration: Thursday 8th July 2.15-3.00pm in the e-Library Portcullis House
Representatives from Dod’s Online will demonstrate how to make the best use of their site, including some of the advanced search options. Please ring the Library IS Help Desk on 2345 to book a place.

Dod's drop-in: Thursday 8th July 3.00-4.00pm in the e-Library Portcullis House
If you would like a brief overview of the Dod’s site, rather than attending the full demonstration, or would simply like the opportunity to speak to someone from Dod’s about their site, please come along to the e-Library sometime between 3.00 and 4.00pm for the drop-in session. There is no need to book a place for the drop-in session – you are welcome to turn up on the day.
