About to start working for an MP?

First stop is our Induction Guide - "How to Survive Your First 10 Days Working for an MP", useful both for those of you who will be working at Westminster and for those who will be constituency-based.

If you haven’t been on the Induction Day for new staff of MPs, don’t delay. Make sure you fit it in as soon as possible, ideally within your first month.  Just because you are located in a constituency office far from Westminster, don’t let this deter you.

In 2001 we published the booklet "Working for an MP" but this is now long out of print.  The content is now (2005) well out of date anyway and you would do better to spend some time looking through the W4MP website.  The website is, of course, on the World Wide Web so accessible for anyone; i.e. if you haven't yet arranged access to the Parliamentary Intranet we advise you to do so asap but, meanwhile, get stuck into W4MP itself.
