Public Bill Office Guides

Six Public Bill Office guides for Members (which may also be useful for staff) were published on the parliamentary intranet early in 2006 and you can also access them directly here on W4MP.
Just click on the topic to see a PDF version; they are all smallish files so quick to download. They deal with the following subjects:
- Preparing Private Members' Bills (24 KB)
- Proceedings on Private Members' Bills (21 KB)
- Presenting Bills under SO No. 57 ("Back of the Chair" Bills) (24 KB)
- Ten Minute Rule motions (22 KB)
- Guide for Members of Standing Committees on Bills (35 KB)
- Guide for Members of Standing Committees on Delegated Legislation (30 KB)
If you have access to the parliamentary network, they can still all be found on the Clerk's Department intranet (click 'Legislation Directorate' then 'Public Bill Office').
From the beginning of the 2006-07 parliamentary session, Standing Committees have been known as General Committees; information at www.parliament.uk/parliamentary_committees/parliamentary_committees46.cfm. Our understanding is that, at some point, the guides above are to be updated but this has not yet (December 2008) been done.
