Access to Services Added 11 October 2007 Since the rest of the world has already commented on this imperative, received by everyone on parliamentary email on Tuesday this week, we can, a little reluctantly, publish it without comment.
However, you will want to know that the
Parliamentary T&G (UNITE) branch and the Secretaries and Assistants Council
are holding a joint meeting next Tuesday (16th October) at 1pm in the
Grimond Room, Portcullis House for members of staff. This is a cross
party meeting open to all members of staff. Frank Doran, Chair of the
Administration Committee, will be attending. You can read a copy of the
Administration Committee's report at:
http://www.parliament.uk/documents/upload/AdminPN13120607.pdf. Access to Services Before the recess the Speaker approved the Administration Committee’s recommendation that Members should have priority access to services throughout the Commons part of the Parliamentary Estate. With effect from today, staff and other users should be prepared to give way to Members when queuing for retail and catering services, the post office, travel office or when using other facilities such as lifts, photocopiers, telephone cubicles, etc. When using parliamentary facilities, please bear in mind whether there is, or is likely to be, a heavy demand from Members and, if so, try to amend your own plans or schedule. Peter Grant Peterkin Sue Harrison Serjeant at Arms Director of Catering Services
