The New Media Awards are back for their 10th year and here's all the information you need from the New Statesman.

After 10 years we are still looking for new media technologies that touch lives. Of course, we have lots of other things to tell you, but if you would like to make a nomination immediately, rather than read on, click on the link below:

ABOUT US
Rapid technical advances in recent years have highlighted the importance of effective delivery and user-centric solutions. It also means that these technologies are increasingly more accessible and user friendly. Our new categories aim to encourage the smaller projects that impact on our lives alongside the larger, national projects that also have greatly improved society.

Our website is as interactive as ever. You can comment on and rate entries, read our blog or listen to our podcasts. Plus, there will be no fear of missing the latest updates as you can sign up to our RSS feed.

CATEGORIES
The new, updated categories are:

  • Democracy in action
  • Inform and educate
  • Community activism
  • Campaign for change
  • Innovation

You can find a description of these, including how they relate to the old categories at http://www.newstatesman.com/nma/nma2008/categories

The judges will be looking particularly for evidence of creative implementation of technology; a willingness to exploit the potential of new media; and an effort in making content as widely accessible as possible.
