Unsolicited e-mails from Google Groups Added 16 April 2008 Several MPs and staff have been receiving numerous unsolicited e-mails from Google Groups, because the Group managers have added them to their groups without asking permission first. Fear not, you can put a stop to it quite easily. First of all, if you are receiving e-mails from Google Groups, then you must have a Google account. So, go to http://groups.google.com/ and sign in. Next, click on the link marked 'Manage my membership' - you'll find this link on the right hand side of the screen, hidden amongst other text. You will then see two boxes, marked:
You should tick one or both of these boxes, as appropriate, and then click the button marked 'save my invitation preferences'. Next, look underneath 'membership settings', and you will see a list of the groups to which you are subscribed. For each group you wish to leave, click on the third drop-down box and select 'unsubscribe', and then save your preferences again. You can now sign out and your problem will be resolved. |
