Fifth Annual Inter-Party Parliamentary Staff Rounders Competition
3pm in Hyde Park on Wednesday 13 August
Postponed until Wednesday 27 August

Rounders Rained Off until 27 August

The bad weather has forced the Annual Inter-Party Parliamentary Staff Rounders Competition due to be held tomorrow to postponed due to a soggy pitch. It looks like heavy rain tomorrow afternoon which would make playing rounders hazardous and also make the picnic a complete wash out. As such the captains have agreed that it would be best to postpone the game until the weather is nicer.

The rounders has been rearranged for Wednesday 27 August 2008 in two weeks time. The games will be played at 3pm in Hyde Park with the drinks reception at  7pm at the Kings Arms in Shepherd Market.

This gives plenty of time to get practicing so contact your team captain for more information: Tom Davis for Labour (davistr@parliament.uk), Tim Collins for the Conservatives (collinsti@parliament.uk) or Robbie MacRory for the Liberal Democrats (macroryr@parliament.uk).

For more information about the rounders in general contact Luke Pollard or Victoria Barton at Edelman – luke.pollard@edelman.com, Victoria.barton@edelman.com . Don’t forget the Inter-Party Rounders group on Facebook too: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=3631865037&ref=t

Only one week until the Rounders Competition

There’s only seven days left until the Fifth Annual Inter-Party Parliamentary Staff Rounders Competition sponsored by Edelman! The competition kicks off at 3pm in Hyde Park on Wednesday 13 August with researchers playing for the Rounders Trophy that the LibDems have won for the last three years.

Can the Tories finally get their hands on the Rounder title? Will Labour begin their fight back by triumphing next week? Or will the LibDems make it four titles in a row?

Don’t forget in addition to the rounders there’s a special prize for picnic of the year. The Tories usually win this but let their guard down last year allowing Labour to show off their spread.

Edelman Public Affairs are buying the drinks again afterwards at the Kings Arms on Shepherd Market afterwards from 7pm. Last year over 100 researchers came long to play or support their party in the rounders and this year we expect even more.

There is still time to sign up to play for your Party’s teams. Get in touch with Tom Davis for Labour (davistr@parliament.uk), Tim Collins for the Conservatives (collinsti@parliament.uk) or Robbie MacRory for the Liberal Democrats (macroryr@parliament.uk).

For more information about the rounders in general contact Luke Pollard or Victoria Barton at Edelman – luke.pollard@edelman.com, Victoria.barton@edelman.com . Don’t forget the Inter-Party Rounders group on Facebook too: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=3631865037&ref=ts

May the best team win!
