New House of Commons Nursery Updated 27 August 2010
Update 27 August 2010 The House of Commons nursery is now ready for its first intake of children. A series of open days have been planned as follows: These are open to anyone on the Parliamentary Estate. Please come and meet the staff who are running the nursery or just to see how the Bellamy’s Bar/Astor Suite area has been transformed into a modern and bright nursery facility. Open to children aged three months to five years, the facility will offer a stimulating and secure environment that will ensure their personal educational development. Forty places are available for the children of Members, Members’ staff and House of Commons and PICT staff. Update 17 August 2010:

the nursery which is due to open in 1 Parliament Street in September: Update17 August 2010 The House of Commons nursery opens to its first intake of children on 1 September. An open day is being held on 31 August between 8am – 6pm which anyone on the Parliamentary Estate can attend. Come and meet the staff who are running the nursery or come and see how the Bellamy’s Bar/Astor Suite area has been transformed into a modern and bright nursery facility. Open to children aged three months to five years, the facility will offer a stimulating and secure environment that will ensure their personal educational development. Forty places are available for the children of Members, Members’ staff and House of Commons and PICT staff. Added 5 July 2010: Work is currently well underway to provide a modern and suitably equipped nursery facility for up to 40 children in what was formerly the Bellamy’s bar/Astor Suite area of 1 Parliament Street. The nursery will be open to the children of Members, Members’ staff, House of Commons staff and PICT staff. We expect the nursery to open in early September 2010. It will be operated by the London Early Years Foundation (LEYF - http://www.leyf.org.uk/home.php). Children aged up to 5 years old will be able to attend.
