The W4MP Jobs service

Updated 3 August 2012

Between the general election in May 2010 and the end of July 2012 393 MPs have used the W4MP Jobs page to advertise 1,176 paid jobs and internships located both at Westminster and in constituencies. This is in addition to 9,505 other posts advertised, including paid jobs as well as internships and volunteer roles, with employers, charities, political parties, campaigns, etc.

We offer an unrivalled service which attracts excellent applicants and we are frequently asked to take down ads early because of the number of highly qualified applicants.

So, if you haven’t tried us yet, just go to the Submit a Job page and complete the simple form online.  We guarantee to make ads live within 24 hours but, in reality, most are up and running within a few hours of their being submitted.

The new system for submitting ads went live in August 2011. It has several new features which are designed to make the task of submitting an ad easier for you:

  • Three new WYSIWYG boxes, enabling you to submit the text as you want it to appear in the ad
  • Ability to preview and amend your ad before you submit it to us for publishing
  • Calendar to select the closing date
  • Clearer information about the location of the post advertised so applicants can search by location
  • Ability to distinguish between posts which pay above or below National Minimum Wage

Yes “but what will it cost me to advertise a job on W4MP?” we hear you thinking.  The answer is that it’s free and supported financially by the House of Commons. The W4MP jobs service has always been a career development facility for Members' staff who were looking for new opportunities, but it has grown rapidly. We began with a couple of dozen ads a month - now it's over 400 every month, and growing.

Yes, it's free for ALL advertisers, not just MPs, Peers etc.
