The House of Commons Survey of Members’ Services 2012 begins on 23 January and runs for two weeks until Friday 3 February. The Survey will be sent to all Members’ paid staff. This is an opportunity to express your views on the services provided to you by the House of Commons Service and you are encouraged to take part. The survey is supported by the House of Commons Administration Committee.

For the House of Commons Service to provide required services to you and to Members, we need feedback on how we are doing now, what needs improvement and any other ideas that should be taken on board.

Acting on feedback following the previous survey in 2010, this year’s survey has been shortened by over a third and is designed to take you only 10 minutes to complete.

The 2012 Survey has been timed to allow its findings to be considered by the House of Commons Savings Programme.  We are keen to ensure that Members and their staff remain satisfied with our services during a period of change and cost savings.

The Survey will be conducted by an external research agency, SPA Future Thinking. All responses are anonymous and no information which might identify any person will be available to anyone at the House of Commons Service.  All information is stored securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

All paid Westminster and constituency staff will receive an email on 23 January 2012 containing a link to the online survey. If you wish to complete a paper survey you will be able to print a copy and post it back. If you do not receive an email on 23 January, do not hold a parliament.uk email address, or if you would prefer to complete the survey by telephone interview, please call the Survey Manager on 020 7219 2306.

If you have any questions about the survey please contact the independent survey provider at sos2012@spafuturethinking.com.
