details The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated and capable of working under pressure to ensure tight deadlines are met. They will able to start work immediately.

Excellent communication skills both written and oral are a must for this role, as is a flexible attitude to work.

This full time, permanent post is based in Westminster.

The ideal candidate will have a proven commitment to the aims and ideals of the Conservative Party. Experience of working in a political environment would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of working with the public, or in an office environment.

Job duties include:

  • Provide information, advice and support for constituents on a range of financial, health, housing and other social issues
  • Liaise with government agencies, the voluntary sector and others to resolve problems
  • Correspond with constituents or meet with them
  • Draft responses to constituent correspondence
  • Keep records of constituent contact and maintain the office correspondence database
  • Assist with office administration/diary management as needed
  • Provide concise research on domestic policy topics
  • closes 9am Monday 15 February 2010. Interviews will be held later that week in Westminster. The successful candidate will start immediately.
