About the Job
This is a fantastic role for a Public Affairs Manager, working for an organisation with a passion to influence health, research and charity policy.
You main remit will be to work with the rest of the Policy and Public Affairs team you will maximise the charity’s influence in Europe by sustaining and broadening our network of contacts, inputting into policy and monitoring and reporting on the development of EU initiatives.
As well as this you’ll draft, implement and refine the charity’s EU strategy and develop policy positions on EU issues through collaboration with the Policy Development team. You’ll co-ordinate and develop EU lobbying strategies with different departments and identify opportunities to build closer links with EU policy makers and leverage activities already under taken by the charity in the UK.
You will also promote Cancer Research UK’s EU policy positions to relevant EU officials and seek their support on priority issues.
About you
You’ll have extensive practical experience of working in EU health/research policy and proven experience of working with the EU institutions.
Having the ability to research, analyse and present information clearly and concisely you will also be prepared to travel regularly to Brussels.
