The Conservative Future organisation is already the largest youth political organisation in the UK and has grown steadily. With 18,000 members (aged 18-30) and branches across the country in universities and local associations, Conservative Future forms a key part of the overall Conservative Party activist base and feeds into policy development. As the Conservative Party re-energises under David Cameron’s leadership there is now a key opportunity to reach out to a new generation of Conservative voters.
The Youth General Manager role is a unique role to help maximise this opportunity. It will have an overarching objective of growing the youth branch and appeal of the Conservative Party. The role will work to not only develop the reach and membership of the existing Conservative Future organisation but also to extend beyond that to develop further ways to engage young people with the Conservative Party. It will involve working across the Parliamentary Party, voluntary party and with the Central Campaign Headquarter team based in Millbank.
