W4MP Jobs pages get a makeover
New system in place by June

Added: 12 May 2011

The W4MP jobs pages have needed a makeover for some time and now the task is almost complete.  By June this year we will have a new system in place which will make it easier to submit ads as well as streamlining the process of getting them live.

Launch date is set for Tuesday 31 May and here are some of the improvements you can expect:

  • New WYSIWYG form, enabling you to submit the text as you want it to appear in the ad (see example below).

  • Ability to preview and amend your ad before you submit it to us for publishing

  • Calendar to select the closing date

  • Clearer information about the location of the post advertised so applicants can search by location

  • RSS feed facility for job seekers

  • Ability to distinguish between posts which pay above or below National Minimum Wage

  • A re-CAPTCHA element for you to complete which will protect us from receiving mounds of spam ads.

The new system will be introduced over the Bank Holiday weekend of 28 to 30 May which means that it will not be possible to submit ads during that three day period.  We will let you have more news and information as the launch date approaches.

Thanks to all those of you who have suggested which improvements you would like to see.  We reckon we’ve implemented most of them.
