Submitting a Job Advert to w4mp Please read the following notes carefully before submitting your ad - this will save you time and ensure that we can post your advert as quickly and efficiently as possible. Job adverts are free for all advertisers as part of our service to MPs and their staff. To save us time and expense please keep ads as brief as possible. If the job to be advertised is already on your website we MUCH prefer to show a link to your page rather than duplicate the ad at length on the W4MP Jobs page. Please enter details carefully and make sure you fill in ALL the boxes, as otherwise your advert may be delayed. All adverts are checked before they appear on the sitethis normally takes less than 24 hours. Your ad will go up faster if you follow the simple formatting instructions. Please note that we will add a logo to your ad; by submitting this form you consent to our copying an appropriate logo/graphic from your website and using it to illustrate your ad. If you want us to use another logo email it to us at jobs@w4mp.org What type of post are you advertising? A paid position An internship or other unpaid position If you are planning to submit an ad for a volunteer or intern to help in the General Election campaign of a political party please make sure, before you submit the ad, that it meets the requirements of your party and of any constraints imposed by the law relating to election expenses. A number of advertisers have submitted ads and then asked us to remove or reword them, and this wastes both our time and yours so please consider this before you submit the ad. We acknowledge that there are many people able or prepared to work in the political field unpaid or for expenses only, as a means of getting a foot in the door or to gain useful experience. The National Minimum Wage Act 1998 specifies under what circumstances the minimum wage should be paid. Guidance has been prepared by the House of Commons Department of Finance and Administration for Members of Parliament to use in consideration of whether or not the national minimum wage might be applicable. If you decide to submit an advert for a paid or an unpaid internship, then the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has developed a Charter which offers a code of practice on good management practice in order to make the internship as successful as possible. Read more. Another very useful resource is the Intern Manager's Guide is from from Internocracy. We are keen to maintain a balance on our Jobs page and hope you will also use us when you have paid jobs on offer. The feedback we get is that such ads attract large numbers of well qualified applicants. |
