The Commons Library provides free training on the many online information resources available to you on the Library website. The Library can show you how to find:
- questions, papers, and statements in Parliamentary Search
- press articles in Nexis News or NewsBank
- historical information in Times Digital Archive or UK Parliamentary Papers and Hansard
- Library and POST publications
Regular courses
The Library runs a regular programme of courses. You can check dates in the ACT learning system or on the Library training and skills page on ParliNet.
Tailored training
Scheduled training courses don’t suit everyone, so the Library also offers a bespoke training service called Navigate. The training can be tailored to specific online resources and information needs – see ACT for further information about Navigate.
Who can attend
Library training courses are generally open to anyone with an @parliament.uk account.
You don’t have to come to Westminster – the Library can provide one-to-one or group training on Microsoft Teams. All Library training sessions are free.
